LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Paul R. Lynch was celebrated by the Rev. Aaron Damboise on Friday, Aug. 8, at Holy Family Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. During Mass, Paul’s children, Mary Beth LaBarre, Kevin Lynch, Brian Lynch and James Lynch, draped their father’s casket with a white burial pall that represents Paul’s Baptism into a new spiritual life with God. Paul’s granddaughter, Kelly Lynch, proclaimed the First reading. Paul’s granddaughter, Briana Lynch, recited the Prayer of the Faithful. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Paul’s two grandchildren, Emma and Thomas Lynch, as well as close family friend, Raymond Heathco. Words of remembrance were then shared by Paul’s son, James Lynch.

The pallbearers were Marc Tremblay, Keith Samson, Wayne Flanagan, Michael Harvey, Randy Sprinkle, Brian Lynch, Shawn Dobson, and Michael Filliettaz.

At the conclusion of Mass, all in attendance were invited to a reception of fellowship at Marco’s Restaurant in Lewiston.

On Saturday graveside committal prayers were recited by Deacon John Brennan at the interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Biddeford. At the conclusion of committal prayers, the United States Navy Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Paul’s wife, Joan, in recognition of her husband’s service to our country during World War II.

The Bibber Memorial Chapel of Kennebunk assisted the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home of Lewiston at the St. Mary’s Cemetery committal in Biddeford.
