Mr. Foster and the former Ruby Phelps were married on Sept. 14, 1956, in Oxford.

The couple arrived at Lost Valley in a white limousine. The centerpiece was created by their granddaughter, Angela Chapman, and the guest book was made by another granddaughter, Amanda Keddy.

Their children and spouses are Jeanette and Philip Chapman Jr. of Winthrop, Clifford Foster of Oxford, Richard and Mildred Foster of Hebron, Katherine and George Melvin of Readfield, and Sandra and David Fogg of Oxford. They also have 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

More than 100 guests from all over New England were in attendance. A buffet lunch was served and their daughter, Katherine Melvin, made the anniversary cake. The couple received many cards and gifts.

Both are retired and reside in Norway.
