Three Lewiston area members of the Maine Legislature attended the Lewiston Middle School promotion to present the Secretary of State Award to Taylor Chamberlain, eighth- grader. The Citizenship Award is presented to Maine students who understand the value of academic success and who devote time and attention to making meaningful progress. Presenting the award were Sen. Margaret Craven and Reps. Peggy Rotundo and Michael Lajoie. Chamberlain was chosen by the school’s team leaders. Over her two years at the middle school, she has earned top academic grades, going above and beyond what is asked. She has also participated in the soccer and basketball teams and in track and field. Chamberlain also assisted in her church program for special needs children. From left are Rotundo, Chamberlain and Lajoie.
