Grange will hold yard sale

BETHEL — A yard sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 30 and 31, at the Alder River Grange, 1895 Intervale Road.

Yard/bake sale has tables available

CARTHAGE — The Carthage Historical Society will sponsor a yard and bake sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. There will be baked beans, biscuits and pies.

As space permits, anyone wishing to set up a table is welcome to do so at no charge. There will be a 50/50 raffle. Call 562-7762 to make arrangements for a table.

Bethel Senior Citizens to meet

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Funky Red Barn.

Menu choices are fish or prime rib. Cost is $13. Reservations must be made before Sept. 1 by calling Arlene Lowell at 824-2877.

Stephens class to meet for lunch

WOODSTOCK — Stephens High School Class of 1956 will hold a luncheon at noon Tuesday, Sept. 2, at  Crosstone Restaurant, Mollyockett Motel, Route 26.

Lithuanian club plans picnic

RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Sam’s Italian on Route 2.

The annual Lithuanian picnic is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, at Black Mountain. Eastlands, a traditonal and alternative Lithuanian folk music group from NYC, will perform.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and food will be served at noon, with the performance to follow. Everyone is invited to attend. More details will be available soon.
