AUBURN — On Saturday, Sept. 13, The Lake Auburn Half, 5K And Bike Tour Expo will have Col. Jack Mosher as the guest speaker. The Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.

Mosher has served as the Chief of Staff of the Maine Army National Guard. Throughout his 25 years as a leader in the Maine National Guard, Mosher has served as a national advocate for veteran wellness programming using ultra-running as a metaphor for resiliency.

In 2009, he founded the 10 year OneLife Warrior Campaign and annual 100K Resiliency Run to elevate the national conscience on issues relating to health awareness and risk reduction in the lives of America’s service members, families and citizens. The central theme of the OneLife Warrior ideology is self responsibility in building personal resiliency through spiritual, emotional, psychological and physical wellness. He has since completed many team and individual endurance events as a living example of resiliency.

Mosher is a graduate of the University of Maine ROTC program, infantry basic and advanced courses, the Combined Arms Staff Services School, the Command and General Staff College (Pershing Award Recipient), the Joint Combined Warfighting School (Commandant’s Award Recipient), Joint Task Force Commander’s Course, Contingency Dual Status JTF Commander’ Course and the United States Army War College.

He is Airborne, Ranger, Air Assault, Mountain Warfare and Nuclear Target Analysis qualified, while holding masters degrees in both educational leadership and strategic studies. Mosher’s awards include The Legion of Merit, two Bronze Star Medals for Valor and Service, three Meritorious Service Medals, eight Army Commendation Medals, three Army Achievement Medals, the Combat Infantry Badge and the Honorable Orders of Saint Maurice and Saint Barbara.
