LEWISTON – Bill and Charlene Howard of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., formerly of Lewiston, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 3.

An anniversary celebration was planned by their children, Dreama, Sherry and Mark, jointly with the Holy Royal Arch Knights Templar Priest, a Masonic organization that Mr. Howard belongs to. The party was held at Fort Walton Beach Shrine Club, and was attended by many friends of the couple.

Mr. Howard and the former Charlene Vickery were married on Dec. 3, 1955, at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey. Mrs. Howard is the daughter of the late Forest Vickery and is a 1954 graduate of Lewiston High School, returning to Lewiston for the 50th class reunion in 2004. Mrs. Howard retired March 31, 1998, as publisher and editor of “The Military Voice” newspaper for approximately 34 years.

Mr. Howard is retired from the U.S. Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base on May 1, 1974, and retired from his second career as a real estate broker in March of 1998.

Both are members of the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.
