NORWAY – Ed and Beverly Damon of Norway recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of their son and daughter-in-law in Norway.

Mr. Damon and the former Beverly Herrick were married on June 12, 1954, in Oxford. They have two sons, Ed Jr. and his wife, Louise, of Norway and Duane and his wife, Pam, of Gorham.

The couple also has four grandchildren, Christopher and his wife, Michelle, of Andover, Alan and his fiancee, Kristi, of Norwalk, Conn., Kelley at college in Georgia and Elizabeth of Gorham. They also have two great-granddaughters, Tanisha and Dharma Damon of Andover.

Mr. Damon graduated from Hanson’s Barber School and has operated Ed’s Barber Shop on Main Street in Norway for 46 years.

The couple enjoys summering at their camp in Waterford with family and friends, dancing, snowmobiling and traveling.

The celebration was held outdoors on June 13 with about 100 family members and friends attending. Also attending were the couple’s wedding attendants, siblings Frances Herrick and Jean Herrick Tyner.

The cake was made and decorated by Louise Damon and was cut and served by Jeanette Herrick Millett.

Refreshments were provided by the ladies of the Heywood Club in Norway.
