KINGFIELD — The Schoolhouse Gallery announces that photographer Cam Held has joined the staff.

A 2014 Bates College graduate, Held majored in geology while also getting concentrations in wildlife biology and photography and film-making. Originally from Rochester, N.Y., he aims to use his photography and cinematography to share the intrinsic beauty of the natural world and to encourage conservation efforts. To date, his photography has led him across four continents and his work has been shown in several galleries in the Northeast. His filmmaker projects have had more than a million views online.

The Schoolhouse Gallery is located in Kingfield at 266 Main St., and features fine art photography and other artwork inspired by the Maine high peaks. Open Fridays from 1-6 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Gallery is a participant in Kingfield’s Friday Winter Art Walks, held on the first Friday of every month from Nov. 7 through April 3.
