As the result of a discussion last evening in regard to the time required to walk around the beltline, that is, starting at a given point in Lewiston and walking down Main Street to Auburn, thence to New Auburn returning to the starting point via Cedar and Lisbon streets, a trial walk was taken. Starting at Morneau’s confectionery store on Lisbon Street, H. Larocque and Joseph St. Clair walked the distance in 27 minutes while P. LeClair, H. Gauvin and A Mileau Jr., covered the same distance in 25 minutes. Arrangements have been made for another race this evening.

Playground swings for the Charles P. Wight School at North Auburn have been ordered. To help defray the cost, the Parent Teacher Association has arranged a series of card parties and coffees to be held at members’ homes throughout the month.
The ways and means committee has appointed hostesses for each neighborhood. Serving on that committee are Mr. and Mrs. George Tomlinson and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Stelmok.
As part of this project, a food sale will also be held at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon, April 10, at Olfene’s Super Market, 178 Court St., Auburn.
