FARMINGTON — Police left tickets on approximately 21 vehicles parked on downtown streets early Sunday morning.
The town’s winter parking ban went into effect Saturday and remains until April 15, Rachel Heseltine, Farmington Police Department secretary, said. The ordinance prohibits parking on any street in Farmington from midnight to 6 a.m. from Nov. to April.
Owners of the ticketed cars were fined $20.
“We’ve been passing out notifications for several weeks,” Heseltine said. Notes were left on vehicles parked overnight prior to Saturday.
The parking ordinance is to facilitate snow removal and owners of vehicles towed will have to pay the towing fee.
