FARMINGTON — Franklin Memorial Hospital will host Doc 4 a Day, a career exploration program designed to ignite an interest in high school students to consider and explore a career as a physician, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Area high school students who have strengths in math and science and an interest in pursuing a career as a physician are encouraged to apply. Participants will have an opportunity to experience hands-on clinical activities in the simulation lab, participate in a round table discussion with current medical students and residents and learn how to navigate the barriers between high school and medical school. FMH hosted this program last year, with great success.
The free program includes lunch. Students are only responsible for transportation to and from Franklin Memorial Hospital. Limited space is available. The registration deadline is Dec. 1.
For more information or to register a student for the program, contact Lorri Brown, AHEC director at Franklin Memorial Hospital, at [email protected] or 779-2233.
