AUBURN Auburn City Council meeting and workshop, City Council Chambers in Auburn Hall. Workshop is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. and topics include the annual audit and the a report on the Norway Savings Bank Arena. The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and topics include a discussion of County Commissioner compensation and a TIF district for Hartt Transportation.

AUBURN — Old World Hanukkah Concert, 6 to 7 p.m., Auburn Public Library, suitable for entire family, performed by new Temple Shalom Rabbi Sruli Dresdner and his wife, Lisa Mayer. The couple are international Jewish music performers, featured on National Public Radio and PBS Television, and they have headlined Jewish concerts from Poland to Jerusalem, Canada and Texas. Hanukkah begins at sundown on Tuesday, Dec. 16.

LEWISTON — Lewiston School Department Redistricting Committee meeting, 4:30 p.m., Dingley Building. On agenda: New student enrollment-projection study.

LEWISTON — Lewiston City Council workshop and regular meeting in the City Council Chambers on the bottom floor of Lewiston City Hall. The workshop meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. and topics include a discussion about the Colisee bonds, a review of a special events policy and an update on improvements to the River Front Island area. The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. and topics include a vote on the new special events policy and a discussion about the Androscoggin County budget committee’s authority and county commissioner compensation.

LEWISTON — Christmas concert performed by Auburn Community Concert Band, 7 p.m. at Franco Center. Admission to 75-minute performance is free.

THURSDAY — Dec. 18

AUBURN — Discussion about options to improve the city’s curbside trash and recycling collections led by the city’s Solid Waste and Recycling Committee at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of Auburn Hall. Members will discuss the results of their ongoing analysis and data on some options.

SATURDAY — Dec. 20

LEWISTON — Downton Abbey Tea and Talk for passionate Downton Abbey fans to meet and share, noon, Lewiston Public Library. Tea and light snacks during discussion of best or worst show moments, characters, plot twists, deaths and fun trivia. Those attending to wear their best hat or tea-time attire. Space is limited.
