LEWISTON — A cardiac care nurse educational program developed by Central Maine Medical Center and the Maine College of Health Professions will be featured at a reception set for Wednesday, Jan. 7, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the 60 High Street Main Lobby at CMMC.
The Cardiac Nurse Residency Program offers a learning environment that allows graduate nurses to gain clinical knowledge and confidence through the development of critical inquiry and evidence-based practice.
The 12-week program is for nurses interested in entering cardiac care and intensive care nursing. The nurse resident begins orientation under the guidance of a primary preceptor and faculty. After completing the 12-week program, the nurse resident continues providing care under the guidance of a mentor for a year.
