GORHAM – On Friday, Oct. 17, the University of Southern Maine will present “Slides, Whistles and Songs,” an evening of musical fun with trombonist Brian Diehl, Boston-based USM artist faculty, accompanied by pianist Anastasia Antonacos.

The concert is the second in the USM School of Music’s 2008-2009 Spotlight Series.

The performance will begin at 8 p.m. in Corthell Concert Hall. Tickets are $15, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. Call 780-5555. A reception to meet the artist will follow in the first-floor lobby.
