LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Historical Society speaker for the Wednesday, March 11, meeting will be Verla Ridley, speaking on “Beaver Park from the Start.”
For the past 31 years she has been Park Ranger for Lisbon’s Beaver Park. Not only is she responsible for Beaver Park, but as Parks Director for the Town of Lisbon, she also has responsibility for 42 gardens throughout the town, which are cared by volunteers.
In her talk at the Lisbon Historical Society, Verla will tell how Beaver Park got its start, how the property was acquired, who were some early supporters and how the public park has developed over the years. She will also outline the programs the park sponsors, and how visitors can participate in those many programs, offered in all seasons for visitors of all ages.
The program, free and open to the public, takes place at the Lisbon Historical Society meeting rooms in the MTM Center on School Street. Entrance and parking are at the rear of the building. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m., with refreshments following.
