NORWAY — Police are asking for the public’s help locating a car they say was stolen during the town’s Easter festival Saturday.

Norway police Chief Robert Federico said local police agencies are searching for a tan 2000 Dodge Neon, license plate 9811TC. The vehicle was last seen parked on Main Street near the Advertiser-Democrat building.

Federico said the owner is a West Paris woman, who was shopping in town with her children when the car went missing. The car was not seized or moved by a family member, he said.

Federico said he hopes the car will be found empty in a parking lot and believes it was stolen for a joy ride, because, “No one steals a Dodge Neon to resell it.”

“We just want to get the car back for the poor folks. With an older car, they didn’t have insurance. They’re hardworking people,” Federico said.
