Woodstock – Judith M. Van Vliet, 74, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2015 at her residence.

Mrs. Van Vliet was born in Lewiston on Aug. 10, 1940, the daughter of Lester and Elsie (Johnson) Locke. She attended Westbrook schools and graduated from Westbrook High School.

She married Merton Van Vliet on April 24, 1982 and was a homemaker most of her life.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved playing Bingo.

She leaves behind her husband, Merton, of Woodstock; three sons, Scott Maddocks of Rumford, Tim Maddocks of Rumford and Mitchell Maddocks and his wife, Brandy, of Bryant Pond; two stepsons, Jayson Van Vliet and his wife, Donna, of Wilmington, N.C. and Eric Van Vliet also of Wilmington, N.C.; a brother, Lester “Babe” Locke Jr of Arizona and several grandchildren.

Mrs. Van Vliet was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Stephen Locke.

Visiting hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Interment will be at St. Hyacinth Cemetery at a later date.
