AUGUSTA — The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife will offer a new summer camp for young people and their families to learn outdoor skills and about the importance of sustaining Maine’s natural resources.

Camp North Woods will be hosted by the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond.

Camp staff and instructors will include Maine Game Wardens from the TV show “North Woods Law” and fisheries and wildlife biologists.

An all-boys camp will be held from July 15 to 19 and an all-girls camp is planned from July 29 to Aug. 2.

Campers will be joined by their parent, parents or guardians for the last two days of camp for a family field day and overnight stay.

Campers must enter a drawing for a chance to attend Camp North Woods, and they must be at least 8 years of age by July 15 and no older than 12 on Aug. 2.

The entry fee is $5 and all proceeds will go to support Camp North Woods. Campers can apply for the online lottery by visiting bit.ly/campnorthwoodslottery. Deadline to apply for the lottery is June.

There is a $400 tuition fee to attend.
