BRUNSWICK – The Brunswick-Trinidad Sister City Association will host a salsa dance Friday, Oct. 12, at Fort Andross. This is a chem-free, family-oriented event.

Disc jockey Laurence Miller of Gotta Dance 2 will provide salsa dance instruction from 7:30 to 8 p.m.and will play salsa and a variety of other Latin music throughout the evening.

The cost for the entire evening is $10 for adults, $5 for children or $25 for a family. Proceeds will benefit the Dance of Two Cultures Mural, a collaborative public art project, led by Hallowell Artist Christopher Cart, which celebrates the cultures of Maine and of Cuba.

Brunswick has had a sister city relationship with Trinidad, Cuba, since 2003. This event honors the tradition of the weekly salsa dance, which brings together the whole family, from grandparents to children, as a way of celebrating their Cuban musical culture.

The dance will befrom 7:30 to 11 p.m. at Fort Andross, 14 Maine St., on the second floor.
