YPLAA to Pack the Bus Saturday

LEWISTON — The Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area will host the Pack the Bus food drive to benefit St. Mary’s Food Pantry from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16.

Buses will park at Shaw’s Supermarkets, East Avenue in Lewiston and Center Street in Auburn.

YPLAA seeks volunteers to collect donations and unload buses. Volunteer registration is online.

Riverview to provide free dental care

AUBURN — “Dentistry with a Heart Day” is set for Friday, May 22, at Riverview Dental in Auburn.

Riverview will provide free dental cleanings, fillings and simple extractions for low income families and individuals experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, sheltered abused women and military service Veterans who need urgent care, have not seen a dentist in more than two years and who are unable to obtain dental treatment financially.

The event will be held by appointment.

Car wash to benefit Lisbon Project Graduation

LISBON — The Lisbon High School Class of 2016 will host a car wash fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Aubuchon Hardware in Lisbon Falls.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the students’ Project Graduation.

Make pillow cases for hospital rooms May 23

AUBURN — ConKerr Cancer will host a pillowcase-making party from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St.

The goal of the party is to provide bright, cheery pillowcases to children with life-changing illnesses or injuries and add comfort and warmth of home to a hospital room.

Fabric and sewing machines will be provided, and sewing experience is not needed.

All pillowcases sewn at this event will be donated to local hospitals.

Free cooking class May 26

LEWISTON — The ARK & Lunch Cafe will host a free cooking class and lecture at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at 791 Lisbon St.

The lecture will be lead by Dr. Gaylen and Kitty Johnson. Registration is required.
