AUBURN — The Lewiston-Auburn Community Forest Board, the Woman’s Literary Union of Androscoggin County, and the City of Auburn will celebrate Arbor Week on Tuesday, May 19, with a Tree, Tea & Talk program at WLU’s headquarters, the Foss Mansion, 19 Elm St., Auburn. Doors open at 1:00pm, program begins at 1:45pm.

Stephen Murch, City of Lewiston’s arborist and a member of the LACFB, will be the featured speaker. Experienced in the selection, care and maintenance of trees on both private and public property, he will provide useful tips to the audience.

Tea and refreshments will be provided by the Woman’s Literary Union.

There is no charge to attend, but a donation box will be available. The funds collected will be used for the Foss Mansion Restoration Project.

The City of Auburn and the Lewiston-Auburn Community Forest Board have a full week of activities celebrating Arbor Week in Maine. The fun and informative events hope to inspire citizens to plant, nurture, and celebrate trees.

Both Auburn and Lewiston have been recognized as Tree City, USA communities for 12 years.
