TURNER – The Turner Center for the Arts will celebrate the opening of “Considered Concepts – Abstract and Non-objective Work” at an artists reception Sunday, March 4. The opening, from 2 to 5 p.m., is free to the public, and refreshments will be served.
Must-sees include an interactive work by Ian Ormon of Leeds and award-winning sculpture by Omer Gagnon of Dayton. All told, the exhibit features more than 50 original works by many regional artists. It will be up until April 7.
Besides the “Considered Concepts” exhibit, Lois Strickland’s landscape paintings are being shown in the Ike and Jody Goodwin Gallery, and members’ works are displayed in the Art Cellar community room.
The arts center has extended the deadline for receiving work for the upcoming open juried show, “Circle of Life,” to Friday and Saturday, March 16-17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Early submissions can be made during regular business hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Turner Center for the Arts is in the Leavitt Institute Building at 98 Matthews Way. For more information, go online to www.turnercenterart.com.
