WAYNE — The Cary Memorial Library Summer Festival is slated for Saturday, Aug. 1.

The event will feature a lobster roll lunch and have a bee theme.

Activities will include:

9 a.m.: Cary Memorial Library 5K Walk/Run starts at the elementary school.

9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Silent auction at the Williams House begins. Bids close Saturday, Aug. 8, at noon.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: The bake and book sale will have a wide selection of home-baked deliciousness, crafts and books.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Raffles open for a quilt and loon lamp. Winners will be drawn at 1 p.m.

11 a.m.: Children’s Musician Buster B’s songs will get kids dancing, moving and singing.

11:30 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Lobster roll lunch will be served under the tent. The meal will include an overstuffed lobster roll, chips, pickles, homemade blueberry cake and a drink for $15. Chicken salad roll option will be $8. Peanut butter and grape jelly or strawberry jam will be availble for children for $5. To-go lunches are available.

12:45 p.m.: Merrill’s Detector Dogs will have K9 Phiona and her handler Sarah Maffei demonstrate training routines for an explosives detection dog. The demonstration will show the techniques used and relationship between dogs and trainers. A question and answer session will.
