FARMINGTON – On Saturday, July 22, Sandy River Players will offer people the chance to find a bargain at its first playhouse sale.
Located on Starling Street, the playhouse sale will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and feature everything from formal wear to furniture. The day also serves as an open house for the public to take a look at the behind-the-scenes world of Sandy River Players.
Perhaps most importantly, the playhouse sale will introduce potential audiences to the 2006-2007 Sandy River Players season, designed to appeal to both the casual person-on-the-street looking for a different way to spend a Friday night and the hard-core theater aficionado.
The season will open with the return of vaudeville to the University of Maine at Farmington’s Nordica Auditorium in October. Directed by Dan Ryder, the show intends to capture the spirit of old-time entertainment with a collection of music, oration, dance and eclectic talent.
