OQUOSSOC — The Outdoor Sporting Heritage Museum will host the Inaugural Rangeley Regatta Saturday Sept. 12.

Teams of sixth through eighth grade students from Rangeley, Phillips, Strong, Stratton and Kingfield schools will compete in fly casting, archery, fly tying, trivia, a road race, an art contest, canoe relay races and kayak races. There will be competitions for both boys and girls with the premiere event being team rowing races in authentic Rangeley boats.

Competitors placing in each event will earn points towards their team’s overall total. Points will also be awarded for both Sportsmanship and Team Spirit as judged by the events volunteers. At the close of the day, the school with the greatest overall point total will take home the Inaugural Rangeley Regatta Cup. Individual awards for the competitors will also be awarded.

The Rangeley Regatta Opening Ceremonies will kick off the day at 9 a.m.
