Cierra Pearl waters vegetable and herbs at Willow Pond Farm in Sabattus on Thursday. Pearl, a native of Washington state, is working on the farm through a Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association apprenticeship. “I am looking to learn new things about sustainable farming practices,” she said. Farm owner Jill Agnew hires seasonal help to tend to the animals, maintain vegetable gardens and do general farm chores while helping with the farm’s community-supported agriculture program. “It’s a good way to learn about the Earth,” Pearl said.
