Historical Society to meet
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Historical Society meeting on Monday, Oct. 26, will feature a presentation by author Patricia Flint on her latest manuscript “Lily of the North.”
The meeting begins at 6 p.m. with a potluck dinner at the North Church on corner of High and Court streets with the program following. Members and guests are welcome.
Patricia Flint is a retired English teacher and school librarian. She has collaborated with Jane Parker and written a book on Farmington’s native Opera Star Lillian Nordica.
Books are fun at fair
RUMFORD — Rumford Community Home will be holding a Books are Fun Fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the training room.
There will be gifts and books for all ages with 30 to 70 percent off the retail price. All proceeds from this fair will benefit the Employee Activity Committee.
Chesterville Halloween Party
CHESTERVILLE — Chesterville will host a Halloween Party for ages 12 and younger from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
There will be games, crafts, food, a costume parade and a haunted hay ride. The event is sponsored by the North Chesterville Extension Homemakers.

Trick or Treat at NCHR
NORWAY — Norway Center for Health and Rehab will host its annual Trick or Treat Night along with the Haunted House and New Ghost Walk from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at 29 Marion Ave.
The event is geared for children 11 years and younger.
Stamp-A-Stack to benefit veterans
PARIS — The Christmas Stamp-A-Stack annual fundraiser for the Maine Veterans Home is set from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at 144 High St.
Participants will make 18 Christmas cards during the class instructed by Kathryn Pulsifer.
The class fee, which includes beverages, snacks and all class materials, is $30, and will support the activities department at the Veterans Home. Registration deadline is Sunday, Nov. 1.

Veterans’ advocate visiting Farmington
FARMINGTON — The veterans’ advocate will visit Farmington from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 3, at the Municipal Building.
Vendors saught for craft show
FARMINGTON — The Annual Christmas Crafts Fair sponsored by the Franklin County Arts and Crafts Association will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, at the University of Maine at Farmington Student Center.
The hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with free admission. Table spaces available.
