LEWISTON — Norman A. Lessard, 88, passed away peacefully at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice on Monday, Oct. 26, surrounded by family.

He was born on Nov. 9, 1926, in Berlin, N.H., the son of Ovide and Marie (Deblois) Lessard.

He moved to Maine and worked as an auto body repairman at Wade and Dutton. In 1961, he helped his brother-in-law start Armand’s auto body. He worked there until his retirement in 1992. He was a socially active man that loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and 4-wheeling with his longtime friend, Nel Peters. He was an avid trap shooter and received many awards.

Norman is survived by his four children, Jane Goulet, Judith Emerson, Kathy Lesperance and John Lessard. He had ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Anna Marie; his parents; a sister, Cecil Blanchette; two grandchildren, Marc Longtin and Justin Lesperance; and a lifelong friend, Orion (Champ) Champagne.
