PORTLAND – “How I Learned to Drive,” by Paula Vogel, will be presented by the University of Southern Maine Department of Theater Dec. 2-10. The play is the story of Li’l Bit, a woman who remembers growing up in a strange family in which unacceptable behavior was part of the norm.

For mature audiences only, this story deals with a troubling relationship between a young girl and an older man. A special panel discussion will be lead by members of the Women’s Studies program immediately after the Dec. 7 performance to facilitate a conversation around issues raised in the play.
