1922 – 2015

LEWISTON — lrenee J. Champagne, 93, of Poland, passed away peacefully at Russell Park Manor on Wednesday, Oct. 28.

Born on May 8, 1922, in Ste.Cecile, Quebec, he was the son of the late Henri and Alphonsine Champagne. He worked as a logger most of his life. He also worked at Lost Valley, in Auburn.

He served in the Canadian Army. He was married to the late Rita Rancourt on Oct. 23, 1954. He was a avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a loyal father and a proud grandfather.

He leaves behind two sons, Rene and his girlfriend, Monique, of Auburn, David and his wife, Donna Champagne, of Poland; his daughter, Yvonne and her husband, Ron Begin, of Sabattus; four grandchildren, Keith, Emily and Abby Champagne of Poland and Tara Cassella of Sabattus; and his loving dog, Otis of Poland.

He was predeceased by 12 siblings.

Sadly missed by all that knew him, his family would like to give a special thank you to Russell Park and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
