1933 – 2015

SOUTH PARIS — Millard “Buddy” Cummings Jr., 82, of South Paris, previously of Sebastian, Fla., passed away with family by his side at the Maine Veterans’ Home on Wednesday, Nov. 11.

The son of Millard Cummings Sr. and Ina (Chapman) Cummings, Buddy was born in South Paris on Oct. 7, 1933. He attended school in Oxford before entering the U.S. Navy to serve on the U.S.S. Wadleigh on which he traveled around the world. After the Navy, he worked at Robinson’s Woolen Mill. He was also an electrician and worked for the railroad before retiring from Local 6 where he worked as an insulator. In 1955, he married Connie Butler of Otisfield and then in 1970, he married Marilyn Bonang of Rhode Island.

Buddy is survived by his brother, Dale and wife, Mildred, of Welchville; son, Chris and wife, Cindy, of Oxford; daughter, Debbie Green and husband, Shane, of South Paris; son, Ken and wife, Mariann, of Oxford; son, Steven and wife, Christine, of Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Frank Greene of Oxford; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by a special “daughter,” Koriene Low and family of Minot.

He was predeceased by his wife Marilyn; his parents; and his sisters, Rita Brooks and Marilyn (Maggie) Greene.
