Grange holding Christmas program 

DANVILLE — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10.

A Christmas program will be presented by Lecturer Thelma Quimby.

Members are reminded to bring unwrapped books, games and toys for the Salvation Army. They should be at the hall by 6:45 p.m. for pickup. The grange continues to collect clipped coupons for the troops.

All members and guests are welcome to attend.

Celebrate Christmas in French

AUBURN — As part of its Fun with French Series, the Auburn Public Library will host a special celebration of French Christmas traditions with former teacher Doris Bonneau from 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, in the Maggie Trafton program room, 49 Spring St.

Bonneau will show how Christmas is celebrated in other countries, sharing stories, songs and traditional foods from France and Canada.

All are welcome.

The Auburn Public Library’s Fun with French series is sponsored through a grant from the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation.

Sampson Air Force Vets to meet

LEWISTON — Southern Maine Sampson Air Force Base Veterans will meet at noon Thursday, Dec. 10, at Govenors Restaurant, 1185 Lisbon St. for luncheon.

This will be an informal meeting for veterans and their guest. All vets from the Korean era are welcome to attend. Sampson AFB was a training center open from 1951 to 1955. Prior to this time, it was Naval training from 1942 to 1945.

Last month’s meeting had 14 in attendance.

Cribbage League lists winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners on Nov. 25 were, first place, Terry Chambers and Anna Faucher; second, Roger St. Pierre and Fran St. Pierre; third, George Bussierre and Mickie Farnum; fourth place, Henry Maheux and Gerry Roy; and, fifth, Leo Bergeron and Ed Hinkley.

The Seniors play on Thursdays at the Lewiston Memorial Armory.
