BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School for all ages at 9:15 a.m., morning worship at 10:30 a.m. and evening service at 6 p.m. 

The midweek service is on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. Also on Wednesday, is Bloom for girls ages 13 to 18, and Foundation for guys ages 15 and up.

On Saturday, Dec. 19, at 7 a.m. there will be a Men’s Fellowship Breakfast at the Fellowship Hall. Thursday, Dec. 24, is the Christmas Eve Candlelight Service. There will be no regular mid-week service this week.

Franklin Grange 124 met at the hall for a regular meeting on Saturday, Dec. 5. A potluck was held. Following the meeting a program was held with exchange of gifts and cards. 

The program, presented by Ruby, was as follows:  reading “Christmas Recipes,” Peter read “Golden Cobwebs” and songs “Come All Ye Faithful,” “Jingle Bells” and “Silent Night. For the next three months the Grange will meet the first Saturday of each month at the home of Ken Hoyt.

On Friday, Dec. 11, Franklin Grange honored Jim Miclon as State Police Officer of the Year. An open meeting and reception was held recognizing Jim’s many years in law enforcement.

Officers of the Maine State Grange were in attendance. The award was officially made at the annual session of the Maine State Grange and this meeting provided other emergency responders as well as the public the opportunity to congratulate Jim on this achievement.

On Tuesday, Dec. 8, the Rotary held its annual ham dinner for senior citizens at the American Legion Hall. A delicious dinner was served, the Telstar Band provided music and a gift was given to each one attending. Many thanks to the Rotary Club for a good time for all.

The Christmas tree by the post office looks very pretty. I love to ride at night to see the different lights at this time of year.
