1946 – 2016
LEEDS — Wayne A. Baker, 69, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 3, at his home in Leeds.
Wayne was born in Maine on Jan. 30, 1946, the son of Ernest T. Baker and Susie M. Theriault Baker. He graduated from Gorham High School. On Aug. 21, 1976, in Lisbon Falls, Wayne and Gail Ann Smith were married.
Wayne proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Wayne was a self-employed carpenter and had also worked at Tex Tech in North Monmouth. He was a born-again Christian pastor, he loved playing music, writing and going to nursing homes to play for the residents.
He is survived by his mother, Susie Baker of Sebago; his wife, Gail Baker of Leeds; two daughters, Sheryl Doiron of Biddeford and Tanya Scherer and her husband, Rick, of Evans, Ga.; his son, David Baker of Windham; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, James Baker of Lewiston and Donald Baker of Sebago.
He was predeceased by his father, Ernest T. Baker Sr.; and his brother, Ernest T. “Sonny” Baker Jr.
