FARMINGTON — “Sing ‘Til Spring!” a family concert and sing-along led by singers, songwriters as well as guitarists Martin Swinger and Matt Loosigian, will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, in Emery Arts Center at the University of Maine at Farmington.
This family show brings an intergenerational audience along for a ride with call and response songs, participation and sing-alongs that engage listeners in the good old-fashioned fun of singing together. Songs included are “Earthworm Dance,” “Hungry for the Sun,” “Do Not Bottle Me,” and sing-along favorites such as “Coming ‘Round the Mountain.”
Swinger has received many awards and performed for audiences of all ages for many years. Loosigian, founder of Earth Jams, has been touring and teaching children for six years and specializes in writing songs about ecology and the green movement.
There will be refreshments and a “surprise” for the children. The cost is $10 for adults, and free for children 18 and younger and students with a UMF ID.
This event is sponsored by the Arts Institute of Western Maine, an affiliate of UMF.
