PORTLAND – The easygoing cowboy Woody and high-flying space ranger Buzz Lightyear are back in town and on ice in “Disney/Pixar’s Toy Story 2.” This live, new comedy-action-adventure is scheduled during school vacation week, Feb. 23 through Feb. 27, for nine performances at the Cumberland County Civic Center.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 16.
Characters from the first “Toy Story” – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Rex, Bo Peep, Hamm and Slinky Dog – are joined by new friends, cowgirl Jessie, Pete the Prospector and Bullseye, Woody’s faithful steed, in a tale of friendship and loyalty.
This “Disney On Ice” show features an international team of award-winning figure skaters, dazzling choreography and an expanded and completely re-orchestrated musical score. The special effects and oversized sets will make each audience member feel like one of the toys as Buzz gets tangled in traffic-cone chaos and Woody rescues Jessie from a jet on a runway.
Tickets are available at the civic center box office, (207) 775-3458; through Ticketmaster at ticketmaster.com; or call (207) 775-3458 or (207) 775-3331.
