Poland talent show canceled
POLAND — The Excelsior Grange announced it has canceled the contest set for Saturday, April 23.
The Granged canceled the show because there was a lack of entries.
Baked bean supper in Auburn
AUBURN — Sixth Street Congregational Church There will host a baked bean supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at 109 Sixth St.
The menu will consist of two types of beans, brown bread, cole slaw, hot dogs, American chop suey, a beverage and assorted desserts.
The cost of the meal is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Children age 5 and younger are free.
Sabattus Seniors to meet
SABATTUS — The Sabattus Seniors will meet Thursday, May 5, at Maxwell-Gill Hall.
The meal will be chicken pot pie. Reservations are required by contacting 207-375-4037 prior to April 27.

Marine Corps League to meet
LEWISTON — The Marine Corps League, Central Maine Detachment 810, will host its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28, at at the Lewiston Armory.
All Marines, FMF Corpsman and people interested in the Marine Corps are invited to attend.
Danville Junction Grange to meet
DANVILLE — Danville Junction Grange will meet at 7 p.m.Thursday, April 28, at the hall.
The program entitled “Grange What!” will be a discussion on the symbolism of the Grange, what the many symbols of the Order mean and how they came to be.
Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting.
Members are reminded to bring their clipped coupons for the troops.
All Grange members and guests are invited.
Sox versus Sox trip
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Recreation Department and Sunshine Hill Seniors will offering a trip to Fenway Park to see the Boston Red Sox play the White Sox on June 23.
The game is slated to start at 1:30 p.m., but participants will arrive in Boston around 11:30 a.m. to grab lunch outside or inside the park along with an opportunity and watch batting practice prior to the game.
This trip is open to any age, and children 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Fans 14 years and younger will receive a Wally Beach towel.
The price of this trip is $65, which includes the game ticket and coach transportation. Tickets are limited.
