BETHEL — The Bethel Conservation Commission, with the help of residents and volunteers, will meet from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 7, at Davis Park to begin cleaning up local parks and roadsides.
The meet-up, which operates under the moniker “Bethel Green-Up Day,” is meant as “an opportunity for groups and individuals to work together to clean up our public places,” said Jessie Perkins, events and marketing director for the Bethel Chamber of Commerce.
Perkins said the Bethel Conservation Commission will provide safety vests, trash bags, water and energy cookies, and that gloves, sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for dirty activity and inclement weather should be worn.
Volunteers can decide whether they want to clean Davis or Angevine park, or clean the roadside.
The cleanup event is being held in cooperation with Mahoosuc Pathways and the Mahoosuc Land Trust
In the event of rain, the cleanup will be moved to Saturday, May 14.
