First Auburn Seniors anniversary party

AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet for an anniversary party at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Martindale Country Club. 

Those attending must present a ticket. Following the dinner will be entertainment.

There were 55 members present at the last meeting. Attendance winners were Madge Gardner and Cecilia Umbro; Pot of Gold, Ellie Rolerson, Donald Nason and Cindy Larrabee; and 50-50, Jeanne Charest, Rosemarie Allen and Leroy Walker.

Bake, rummage sale May 7

AUBURN — Barker Mill Arms Association will hold a bake sale and rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, in the first floor community room, 143 Mill St. 

There will be a 50/50 raffle, food baskets, homemade baked goods, white elephant tables, donuts and coffee.

Lunch will be available serving homemade slice meat pie, beans, hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, chips and soda.

Legion to host public supper

GRAY — The American Legion will host a public supper from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at 15 Lewiston Road.

The menu will include beans, and casseroles and pies for desert. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than 12.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome 

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Players must be members.

Bridge club lists winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners on April 19 were, first place, Nancy Lindgren and Roger Labbe; second, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; third, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; and, fourth, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry. First in B were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr; and, second, Ellie and George Wigton.

Winners on April 25 were, first, Rosemarie Goodwin and Paul Clement; second and third tie, Donna Bartlett and Claire Lyons with Paul Mitnik and Paul Sherman; and fourth, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell. First in B were Cynthia and Bill Clifford.

Winners on April 26 were, first, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; second, Patricia Garcia and David Lock; third, Pat Quinn and Roger Labbe; and, fourth, Mike Quinn and Mike True. First in B were Nancy Farmer and Barbara Newcomb.

Games are played on Mondays and Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave., Lewiston. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcomed.
