WEST PARIS — Trustees and Friends of the West Paris Library will hold a reception for retiring Librarian Patricia “Patty” Makley from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, at the library on Main Street.
The public is invited to wish her well in her retirement.
Makley became a Friend of the Library years ago, and helped raise money for the library as well as create programs and events for adults and children. She became the librarian in 2005, at a time when discussions and plans were being made for a much-needed addition. Makley was a vital participant in those discussions, and the new addition opened in 2011.
The past 11 years Makley has been dedicated to providing friendly and tireless service to a growing number of patrons, young and old. She has always worked with trustees and Friends of the Library to make the library a center for education, artistic and social occasions.
