BANGOR – Maine Public Radio will present a Christmas performance by the Portland Symphony Orchestra on its “Maine Stage” program at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 24.

The 24th annual Magic of Christmas concert celebrates the yuletide with more than 200 performers, including the orchestra, the Magic of Christmas Chorus and guests Margaret Plouffe, a young Maine soprano, and Broadway stars Joy Lynn Matthews and Robert Bartley.

The performance features traditional carols and contemporary favorites, which are sacred and secular, humorous and reverent. It is led by Music Director Toshiyuki Shimada.
