Daughters of Isabella to meet

RUMFORD — St. Timothy’s Circle No. 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Holy Savior Church Hall.

Chairwomen for the meeting are Sharon Gates and Jan Hooley. Committee members are Donna Gilbert, Lilly Burns and Barbara Pelletier.

Lorraine Barre will be congratulated for 49 years of membership.

SeniorsPlus to hold outreach hours

NORWAY and FRYEBURG — SeniorsPlus will be on hand in Norway and Fryeburg to answer questions and concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.

Norway: 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, at the Town Office.

Fryeburg: 1 to 4 p.m. Monday, June 27, at the Fryeburg Library. 

These events are free and open to the public.

No bingo at Dixfield legion

DIXFIELD — There will be no bingo at the Dixfield American Legion on Friday, June 17, because the legion is attending the State Convention in Bangor.

Bingo will resume Monday, June 20.

Chesterville cemetery clean up June 18

CHESTERVILLE — The public is invited to help with the cemetery survey/record/clean community project on Saturday, June 18.

Those helping should check in at the Meeting House at 9 a.m.

Appropriate clothing is required, such as sunscreen, bug spray, a hat, long sleeves and long pants, work gloves and sturdy shoes.

A clipboard, pencil and tape measure will be helpful in completing headstone survey forms.

Those planning to spend the day should bring a bag lunch and a full water bottle.

Wilson Grange yard, goodies sale

WILTON — Wilson Grange will have its annual yard and food goodies sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18.

Indoor yard sale in Livermore

LIVERMORE — The Livermore Falls Women’s Club will hold an indoor yard sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at the Livermore Community Center.

Proceeds support various charities the organization supports.

The group is seeking individuals or organizations interested in earning money for their unwanted or excess items.

Rumford book sale June 18

RUMFORD — The Great Annual Book Sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, in the public room of the Rumford Public Library.

Proceeds will help the Rumford Library Friends continue their work in offering poetry and mystery book programs for the community.

Scribner’s Mill giving tours

HARRISON — Scribners Mill will host tours of the mill and homestead from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 18, at 244 Scribners Mills Road.

Tours of the mill include a demonstration of 19th-century machinery used to manufacture barrels at 2:30 p.m.

The mill made barrels for the local apple industry, and workers packed apples in barrels to ship to England. Barrels are still manufactured at the mill and may be ordered for $40 each.

Scribners Mill is open to the public throughout the summer on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

A minimum donation of $5 is requested per adult. All funds are used for the continued restoration of the site.
