LEWISTON —

, 89, formerly of South Rumford, died in Lewiston on Friday, June 10.

She was born in Weirton, W.Va., and graduated from Weirton High School in 1944. After graduation, she attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Baltimore, Md., as a cadet nurse during World War II. Later in life, she returned to college and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire, Keene State.

While attending nursing school, she met Rosaire Mark Bisson and they married in 1945. They owned and operated Pyro-Tech Engineering and spent many winters in Panama City Beach, Fla. While there, she pursued advanced courses at Gulf Coast Community College.

She loved traveling and visited many countries in the world. Some of the trips she took were part of her college-affiliated courses in art history. She loved art, gourmet cooking and theology. She read her Bible cover to cover every year and, while in Panama City, she attended the First Baptist Church.

Her husband of 65 years, Rosaire Mark, passed away on Aug. 13, 2015.

She is survived by her two children, David (Marcy) Bisson of Raymond and Briana (Werner) Knoop of University Park, Fla.; five grandchildren, Daniel (Lori) Bisson of Raymond, Jason (Sarah) Bisson of South Portland, Tracy (Adam) Costa of South Portland, Damian (Irene) Knoop of Berkeley, Calif., and Dustin (Laura DiSumma) Knoop of New York, N.Y.; 10 great-grandchildren, Jack, Braeden, Elise, Cole, Ellie and Reid Bisson, Greta and Inez Costa, and Ellie and Edie Knoop.

The family would like to thank the Montello Manor Health Care Facility in Lewiston for the wonderful care they provided to Lola.
