GORHAM – The University of Southern Maine School of Music’s 2004-05 Faculty Concert Series will begin its season with “3 Divas in Concert!”
Sopranos Judith James, Deborah Hall and Marie Pressman, with pianist Edward Reichert, will celebrate their 10th year together by performing from music by Stephen Sondheim, Kurt Weill and Maury Yeston.
The concert will feature the world première of “Finally, To Know,” a song by Maury Yeston from his upcoming Broadway musical, “Death Takes a Holiday” (starring Antonio Banderas). It also will be the New England première of two new songs from Sondheim’s latest, still-unpublished show, “Bounce.”
Two performances will be held in Corthell Concert Hall on the USM Gorham campus at 8 p.m. Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. Tickets: $15, $10 for seniors, $5 for students. FMI: call 780-5555.
