CANTON — The workshop “Avoiding Common Perennial Mistakes” will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 7, at the Town Office.
The program is sponsored by the Canton Park and Trail Committee and the Oxford County University of Maine Cooperative Extension.
Those who grow perennials or are thinking of starting a garden are encouraged to attend.
The informal event will begin with a classroom presentation at the Town Office and proceed to Canton Heritage Park for additional information and a question-and-answer session.
Dan Cousins, general manager of Pietree Orchard in Sweden, will lead the discussion. Cousins has more than 20 years experience growing a variety of fruits, vegetables and perennials in greenhouses and fields, including research plants for Cornell University. Cathryn Kloetzli, University of Maine Cooperative Extension agriculture and food system professional, will also participate and answer questions.
Refreshments will be served.
