First Auburn Seniors to meet 

AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at the Hasty Community Center. The Steering Committee will meet at 10 a.m. 

This will be a regular meeting, and those attending should bring a bag lunch. Bingo will be played after.

There were 51 members present at the last meeting. Attendance winners were Carol Layton and Cecelia Umbrto; pot of gold, Caroline Chapman, Jeanne Adams and Joan Webb; 50/50, Charlotte Dyer and John Watson. 

Tickets for the barbecue on Wednesday, July 20, will be for sale during the meeting. Cost is $5 each. 

Sabattus Democratic Committee to meet

SABATTUS — The Sabattus Democratic Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 11, at the Sabattus Town Hall.

Special guest will be Nicholas Gayton, candidate for House District 57, which includes Sabattus and Greene.

Volunteers sought to make blankets

AUBURN — ?The Auburn United Methodist Church is looking for volunteers to make blankets to give to patients in the hospital.

Blankets may be dropped off at the information desk at Central Maine Medical Center’s main entrance at 60 High St. or at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

Bridge Club lists winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge Club winners of the New England-wide Sectional Tournament on June 27 were, first, Jan and Vern Arey; second and first in B, Dick Allen and Richard Balian; third and second in B, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; fourth, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third in B and first in C, Paul Clement and Roger Labbe; and second in C, Ellie and George Wigton. Ninety-two tables were played in New England with Jan and Vern Arey placing fifth.

Winners of the New England-wide STAC game on June 28 were, first, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn; second and first in B, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; third and second in B, Richard Balian and Paul Clement; and fourth, Pat Garcia and David Lock. Luke and Mike placed third overall in New England.

Games are played at 9 a.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed, and all bridge players are welcomed.
