1931 – 2016
LEWISTON — Armand Joseph Gosselin, 85, of Stanley Street, Lewiston, died Wednesday, June 29, with his family at his side, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Berlin, N.H., on March 1, 1931, a son of the late Arthur and Delia (Hamel) Gosselin. He was educated in Lewiston and graduated from St. Dom’s. He then went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Air Force.
Armand married the former Shirley Dufour on Sept. 2, 1957, together they started raising their three children. He worked for more than 35 years at Country Kitchen.
He was a member of The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, The American Legion and was a fourth degree knight with Knights of Columbus Council 106. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following his grandchildren in all their sporting events. He was their number one fan. He also loved spending time with all his family, especially at the family camp and going fishing. Armand was working at United Ambulance and enjoyed every day of it, he loved socializing with the staff and will be greatly missed.
He leaves his wife of 58 years, Shirley of Lewiston; his three children, Paul Gosselin and his wife, Helene, of Lewiston, Sue Marston and her husband, Brad, of Windham, and Pete Gosselin and wife, Tami, of Lewiston; his seven grandchildren, Chris and wife, Chelsea, Seth, Tom and wife, Rachel, Kaleigh, Katie, Evan and Emily; two great-grandchildren, Owen and Finley; a sister Rita Gosselin of Lewiston; his four brothers, Roger Gosselin and wife, Laurette, of Lewiston, Raymond Gosselin and wife, Pauline, of Lewiston, Lucien Gosselin and wife, Anna Rose, and Maurice Gosselin and wife, Linda, of Lewiston; and many-many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Patrick; his two brothers, Robert and Roland Gosselin; and a sister, Theresa Giem.
