Hastings Landing grand opening

RUMFORD — The Mahoosuc Land Trust and the Androscoggin River Watershed Council will hold a grand opening celebration for Hastings Landing, the newest Androscoggin River boat access, at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 17, in Rumford Center Village.

The event will honor the donors and volunteers who worked to make this project possible. The Hanover to Rumford leg of the Source to the Sea will be passing by, and those attending may bring a kayak or canoe to launch at Hastings Landing and join them in the paddle down to the Rumford take-out.

Friends of Wilson Lake annual meeting

WILTON — Friends of Wilson Lake will hold the annual meeting at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at the Reunion Building at Kineowatha Park.

Highlights will include a watershed survey update by Jen Jespersen, Project Coordinator. Those attending should bring a chair and a potluck dish. Dessert and beverages will be provided.

Golf fundraiser benefiting cancer center

LIVERMORE — Lady Golfers are invited to play in a golf tournament on Tuesday, July 19, at Maple Lane Golf Course. The proceeds will benefit patients at the Martha Webber Breast Cancer Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington.

Registration is required, and ladies may register as teams of four or as individuals to be placed on a team. There will be team and individual prizes. A registration fee of $100 per team includes a catered lunch. Cart fees are $10 per rider.

There will be raffles during the day and a live auction of items donated by supporting businesses after lunch.

Garden club to meet

FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Area Garden Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at the home and gardens of Pat Durham and Ed Davis, 119 Sunny Hill Drive.

A tour of the gardens will take place after a short business meeting.

Members and guests are asked to bring a bag lunch, a chair and a plant to exchange. Hostesses, Matiana Glass, Debbie Davis-Robinson and Judy Loeven, will provide drinks and light desserts.

The meeting is open to all those interested.
