PARIS – Sgt. Rick McAlister of the Maine State Police was recently elected to the board of directors of the National Association of Professional Accident Reconstruction Specialists.

NAPARS is a worldwide nonprofit organization whose members have joined together to share the challenge of dealing with the complex problems of accident reconstruction and to upgrade and ultimately professionalize the accident reconstruction field.

McAlister is a 23-year veteran of the Maine State Police. His current duties include supervising Maine’s Crash Reconstruction Program as the senior crash reconstruction specialist, systems administrator for Maine’s statewide electronic crash reporting system and principal instructor for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy’s crash investigation courses.

McAlister, a 47-year-old native of Oxford County, lives in Paris, where he, along with his wife and two children, has resided for more than 23 years.
