WILTON – The Wilton CareerCenter, 865 U.S. Route 2E, has released the workshop schedule for the month of June. These workshops are at no charge to the public.

“CareerCenter Employment and Training Orientation,” every Monday, 10 a.m.-noon. It features an explanation of training programs and career exploration and provides a brief introduction to the Wilton CareerCenter services.
“Community College Adviser,” every Monday, noon-4 p.m. A college adviser is available to talk about options to attend college and college choices based on interests and career goals.
“CareerCenter and Job Search Orientation,” every Tuesday, 9 a.m.-noon. Find out what services and resources the Wilton CareerCenter has to offer those newly unemployed or looking for a new career. Those attending may also become registered for the CareerCenter job matching system, by the end of the workshop.
“Resume Writing,” June 1 and again June 15, 1:30-3 p.m. Explore the basics of résumés and applications and learn what can make a résumé or application stand out. Please bring your work and educational history.
“Preparing Your Resume For Online Applications,” June 8 and again June 29, 1:30-3 p.m. Helps attendees format their resume so it can be attached to an online application. Please bring your work and educational history.
“CareerCenter Youth Orientation,” June 11, and again June 25, 10 a.m.-noon, a youth orientation for those ages 16-21.
“Ace That Interview!” will be offered June 11 from 1-3 p.m. Learn how to prepare for a successful job interview.
“Creating Your Professional Portfolio,” June 11 from 10 a.m.-noon. Creating a personal portfolio allows you to document your acquisition of knowledge, skills and expertise. This workshop will outline the process.
“MEOC101 – Essentials of College Planning,” June 18, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Instructions on filling out financial aid forms to assist you in getting the maximum amount in grants or loans. You must preregister for this session by calling 1-800-281-3703.
“O*Net Ability Profiler,” Call for further information as this workshop requires five or more people for attendance. This is a career exploration tool that helps clients plan work lives using a paper and pencil format with optional apparatus parts and computerized scoring. Results can be used to identify strengths for which more training/education is needed, and to identify occupations that fit their strengths.
